Who We Are

Jason Sprague brings twenty-five years of experience in the music industry, specializing in sync and music publishing. Having previously held positions at both major and independent music companies, he brings a plethora of industry knowledge, relationships and experiences to House of Sync. He has a Bachelor of Science in Music Industry from the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music, is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Executive Education program, and holds a Recording Arts and Technology degree from California Recording Institute.

In 2000, Jason started his career in the business at independent record company Straight Hits Entertainment. As National Director of Radio Promotions he pitched independent artists for rotation on top-tier radio stations throughout the country. In 2008, Jason joined Warner Music Group, focusing on sync and helping clear music for labels Atlantic Records, Warner Records, Rhino Records and Elektra. A year later, he would go on to form the first ever sync licensing division for Alternative Distribution Alliance, the independent distribution arm of Warner Music and home to some of the biggest independent artists and labels in the world. Working with labels like Tommy Boy Entertainment, Rhymesayers, Surfdog Records, Vapor Records, and artists such as Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Danny Brown, Redfoo, Joss Stone, Dropkick Murphys, Eric Clapton, and others, Jason was able to land multiple placements in media including major advertisement campaigns, film, film trailers, television shows and video games.

In 2017, Jason joined Red Bull Records as Director of Brand Partnerships and Commercial Licensing. There he was pivotal in the success of artists such as Awolnation, Blxst, Beartooth, The Aces, Albert Hammond Jr. and others. Most recently, he oversaw sync licensing and music publishing for Phonk-focused record company Black 17 Media, working with platinum selling artists Kordhell, INTERWORLD, DVRST, and many others.

With co-founding House of Sync, Jason continues to bring his expertise to the independent music community. His ability to build and grow relationships in the sync community and his passion to help independent artists and companies to succeed is at the forefront of the company and the services we provide.

Jim Leavitt brings a wealth of experience and a multi-faceted perspective to the music industry, honed through decades of work across record labels, music publishing, and sync licensing. In addition to early positions at renowned companies such as Arista Records, Imago, and ZE, he represented iconic artists such as Chuck Berry, Howlin’ Wolf, Little Walter, Bobby Charles, and Etta James for sync during his tenure at Arc Music Group Publishing. There he further amplified the global recognition of Reggae and Soca music by working with Greensleeves Music and STB Music Publishing, managing some of the most influential songwriters in those genres.

Later in his career, Jim would go on to become the Head of Sync for The Orchard, a division of Sony Music and the #1 independent music distributor in the world. At The Orchard, Jim led a team pitching and placing music for sync from superstars such as Bad Bunny, BTS, T-Pain and 21 Savage, in addition to labels HYBE, Cleopatra Records, Rimas and more.

Most recently, Jim served as Senior Director of Music Partnerships, Talent Relations, and Licensing at video game publisher Ubisoft. There he played a pivotal role in the development of Rocksmith+, an innovative educational gaming platform. During his time there he was instrumental in securing music licenses, fostering relationships with artists and labels, and curating a diverse catalog to engage and inspire a global audience.

As co-founder of House of Sync, Jim brings years of music industry experience specializing in sync and publishing. His career has been defined by his ability to bridge the gap between creativity and commerce, ensuring that artists and their work are matched with the perfect opportunities to shine. His broad expertise, strategic vision, and unwavering passion for music continue to leave an indelible mark on the industry.

Jim holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Antioch University and is a graduate of Hofstra University’s Project Management and Implementation program.
